baptismal renewal

i stepped out of scheide hall tonight to find the weather warm and drizzly. it was a drizzle where you could truly feel the raindrops - not a mist or anything - but it felt refreshing and picturesque. the thought flashed across my mind "the soft and slow rain would be perfect for an evening walk." and no sooner had i thought it than the sky opened up into a downpour. first, i considered it to be nature's irony or sense of humor, purposefully countering my thoughts of a drizzly walk. and then i just felt really happy. the rain felt good even though it was soaking my hair and drenching my wool sweater, making it smell sort of gross. i didn't care that the rain had ruined my thoughts of a drizzly (but not drenching) walk. by the time i got back to my dorm (all of 30 seconds), i was sopping wet, but i could have enjoyed standing under the rain for another hour, it seemed.
