The Web: Fun to play with, bad for real conversation

I was browsing Wired online this morning and came across this article about technology and real communication. It makes me think again about my bad experiences with dialogue and debate over electronic media, and how the web isn't designed for fruitful, civil, and profound conversation. It is a medium designed for a depth of available information, but not for a depth of discussion, nor for a depth of accountability for what we say in electronic conversation.
