read-iculous

i stole the name for this post from my third grade teacher. d y'all remember the "book it" program? "read-iculous" was her way of feeding into book it. we got a calendar every month with different kooky reading assignments that we were supposed to do, like "read 15 minutes in the bathtub" (water or no water...i crawled in with pillows in my pj's) or "read 20 minutes by candlelight" (uhhh...can we say really bad for your eyes?) or "read 15 minutes outside" or "read a chapter out loud to your favorite stuffed animal."

anyways. i titled this post "read-iculous" because my summer reading list is ever-growing. i alreayd have eight books listed in my sidebar. it's not that eight is a large number of books to read in a summer, or in even a part of a summer. but there are two problems here:

1. i only own half of them, and i really feel like i'd want to own the other half. but i'm working two stupid mall jobs...i don't feel justified in buying books on a whim when my paychecks are suposed to be helping pay for my laptop and to be helping support our two-penniless-students' household.

2. i can't decide which one i want to read next. i want to be reading all eight of them right now, but that obviously can't happen.

i'm reading the source of life right now. it's not terribly long and not terribly difficult. so i'm almost halfway through, and honestly, i'm a little disappointed. i'm not sure what i was expecting. i think that i was hoping for motlmann to blow me away with new ideas and thoughts, but instead, it feels more like a nice (yet perhaps a little too comfortable) sermon. i'll let you know how the second half goes.

time for reading/journal writing/sleeeeeeeeeeeep.
