sending mail is fun. getting mail is fun. sending mail uses up my current stationary and thus gives me an excuse to buy new cute stationary that i drool over when i'm at work.
besides, keeping in touch with friends and family is super-valuable. and seriously, no one can argue with me that snail mail is awesome.
